“We’re all part of nature”
According to the expert from Greenland, the world exhibition is important because we humans – whether we know and feel it or not – are all part of nature. Regarding the underlying concept of the event, the professional hunter said it very much resembles the phenomenon when a herd of musk oxen group together against the predator instead of running away. “That’s actually a smart move in this country, in this environment.”
According to Frank Feldmann, hunting and hunters play an important role in nature conservation. He added that “hunting and in particular, trophy hunting is greatly dependent on nature and game conservation, especially when it is pursued as a sustainable activity. We must therefore cooperate with the representatives of various governments more openly and sincerely, and manage problems globally.”
Regarding the role of hunting in Greenland, he said “Over here, the majority of people hunt, and the role of hunting is enormous. As one of our most important tasks, we must coordinate sustainable game management plans, including the coordination of plans relating to local meat hunters, professional hunters and trophy hunting.”
“As a forum created for nature conservation and hunting, the “One with Nature” Expo achieved internationally significant results, and accordingly the work we have begun is worth continuing from a professional perspective, but also from a social, foreign policy and national image perspective alike”, Mr. Kovács emphasised in Riga.
