The Ministerial Commissioner for the World Exhibition continues his work as an international ambassador
József Károlyi inherited his love of nature and interest in it from his grandfather, Count Lajos Károlyi - who was also known as a hunting writer - and his father, Sándor Károlyi. He believes that we humans live in nature, with nature and from nature.
– József Károlyi explains that this is reflected in the name and logo of the World Exhibition, which also underline that we have a responsibility towards nature. He adds that, in the context of hunting, fishing and forestry management, nature can and should be used in a sustainable way.
According to József Károlyi, hunters understand and respect the laws of nature. Their work clearly illustrates the need for regulatory intervention in nature by humans in order to preserve biodiversity in today's civilized world. This includes the hunting of certain species within legislative limits and the strict protection of others.
“As a forum created for nature conservation and hunting, the “One with Nature” Expo achieved internationally significant results, and accordingly the work we have begun is worth continuing from a professional perspective, but also from a social, foreign policy and national image perspective alike”, Mr. Kovács emphasised in Riga.
