In Dortmund on Tuesday Zoltán Kovács, Government Commissioner for coordination of the 2021 World of Hunting and Nature Exhibition, told Hungarian news agency MTI that next autumn at least one million people are expected to visit the Exhibition’s events, which – in addition to Budapest – will also be held in four provincial locations.

He added that organisation of the events is in progress, and preparations are progressing according to schedule. The Government Commissioner for the “One With Nature” World of Hunting and Nature Exhibition and the related series of events told the press that contracted partners at the international exhibition will be presenting their knowledge and conceptions of hunting at 660 events.

He said that invitations to international partners, governments and specialist partners are also being offered at the JAGD & HUND exhibition in Dortmund, which is Europe’s largest annual hunting expo and fair. In the year ahead “One With Nature” 2021 will be represented – and thus positioned – at all larger events related to hunting, nature and angling. The plan, Mr. Kovács stated, is to promote the 2021 Hungarian World Exhibition and confirm the participation of hundreds of international organisations and players.

According to Mr. Kovács, some 6-7 billion forints (EUR 18-20 billion) has so far been spent on the organisation and preparation of the 2021 World of Hunting and Nature Exhibition. The central element of the event will be a Hungarian and international hunting exhibition, to be held at the HUNGEXPO exhibition centre in Budapest. In addition to the three-week event, however, there will also be many other exhibitions, conferences and events of international standing. In addition to these, an important role at the events will also be played by the presentation of fish and game gastronomy, and the culture of wine related to this.

At the official opening of the Dortmund expo, Mr. Kovács said that Hungary is delighted to take part as an invited guest of the 2020 Jagd und Hund in Dortmund. He noted that hunting plays a prominent and responsible role in European and global game management, and in the preservation of the sustainable management of nature. The Government Commissioner added that central themes of the 2021 World of Hunting and Nature Exhibition will be raising awareness of the importance of nature conservation, and promotion of the sustainable use of nature. He observed that hunting, hunters, angling and anglers are part of our cultural heritage, and that on the fiftieth anniversary of the successful 1971 World Hunting Expo in Budapest, Hungary can once again be at the centre of international attention.

On Tuesday the Government Commissioner also opened the Hungarian stand at the Dortmund expo.

The JAGD & HUND exhibition in Dortmund is Europe’s largest international hunting exhibition, with some 800 exhibitors from 41 countries. Between 28 January and 2 February more than 80,000 visitors are expected at the expo.
